At Club Sunnyside, Progress is Our Most Important Product

Day three of chemo, and I'm still feeling fine. Of the two chemotherapeutic agents that I will receive, I have finished the Idarubicin. Now I have four more days of Cytarabine via IV drip. After that I can be free of Olive Oyl, at least for a time.

I am in good spirits thanks to all of you folks who have been so incredibly loving and supportive. I also have my Lord Jesus to lean on, and He is the biggest comfort of all. Although, I am sleeping very well here, I occasionally wake up in the night and have wonderful conversations with Him. One of the Bible verses that has been brought to mind a good deal recently is Matthew 6:24, where Jesus says,  "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Any of you who may be familiar with 12 Step programs will recognize, "One day at a time." That's what I'm doing. One day at a time.

This morning began with a blood draw at 3:15, which showed hemoglobin down and platelets down. I got a platelet transfusion around 5:00 and RBCs at about 6:30. Supplement that with coffee and breakfast and I am off to a good start for the day.

Jill is here and a my friend with the condo is coming for a visit today. So my spirits are high as I start my second week at Club Sunnyside. May God bless you all today, as He is blessing me.
